Celtic set to sign Egyptian World Cup 2026 sensation

Celtic are on the verge of completing the signing of Haissem Hassan, the Egyptian winger from Real Oviedo who made a name for himself at the 2026 World Cup. According to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old is expected to travel to Britain on Wednesday to undergo his medical and finalize the transfer.

A deal worth more than €10 million

Celtic have reportedly already reached an agreement with Oviedo. The Scottish club is set to pay around €7 million upfront, with over €3 million in bonuses. The total value of the transfer could therefore exceed €10 million.

Having only recently broken into the Egyptian national team, Hassan quickly made an impression on the international stage. In the round of 16 clash at the 2026 World Cup against Argentina, the winger produced a stunning run down the right flank before delivering a pinpoint assist to Mostafa Ziko. Despite Argentina's comeback and Egypt's elimination, his performance sent his stock soaring.

A new chapter for the winger

Hassan also comes off a demanding season with Oviedo, making 38 appearances and providing three assists. All signs now point to him taking the next step in his career with Celtic, where his pace, directness, and creativity out wide are expected to make an immediate impact.
