Chad signs partnership with LALIGA
Chad wants to accelerate the professionalization of its football by drawing on Spanish expertise. A partnership between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and LALIGA was formalized in Madrid, with several areas identified around training and the organization of national football.
Cooperation focused on training
The first objective of this collaboration concerns the development of young players. Chad notably wants to establish better mechanisms for identifying and monitoring talent, while also strengthening the skills of coaches and support staff.
LALIGA’s expertise is also expected to be mobilized in supporting the future National Academy, which is set to play an important role in training the next generations of Chadian footballers.
The league also included
The cooperation is also set to cover the organization of local football. Structuring the Chadian league is one of the announced priorities, with the aim of gradually improving the framework in which clubs and players operate. Ultimately, this policy should make it possible to have a larger number of locally trained players capable of joining the national team.
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Minister Naïr Abakar, who praised the involvement of Javier Tebas and the LALIGA teams. The Chadian authorities also thanked Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno and the Prime Minister for their support for the project. The real challenge now begins on the pitch. The success of this collaboration will depend on its ability to deliver training programs, improve coaching and support, and strengthen existing structures.
