Champions League: OL’s squad for Fenerbahçe clash
After the first-leg draw in Turkey (1-1), Olympique Lyonnais will host Fenerbahçe on Wednesday night in the Champions League play-off return leg.
For this high-stakes encounter, Lyon’s supporters are answering the call, with the Groupama Stadium set to be sold out. That electric atmosphere could help OL punch their ticket back to the Champions League group stage for the first time in six years.
Facing N’Golo Kanté and Mason Greenwood’s Fenerbahçe, Paulo Fonseca has called up a 24-man squad, with several players returning compared to the group that traveled to Toulouse last weekend in Ligue 1. Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Moussa Niakhaté, Ruben Kluivert, and Abner have all been included for this Champions League showdown.
Pavel Šulc, who made his return in Toulouse, is also present. Injured last June, Khalis Merah is back in training, but the young attacking midfielder has not been named in the squad for this OL-Fenerbahçe showdown—nor has Julien Duranville.
