For Alvaro Arbeloa, this result only cements Real Madrid's status as Champions League favourites this season. "I believe Real Madrid are always the favourites. This is their competition. Obviously, there are some excellent teams and the season is still long. But this is Real Madrid, and they will always be the favourites in this tournament," said the new Merengues head coach at the post-match press conference.
