Chelsea: Mamadou Sarr set for another loan move?
Mamadou Sarr’s future could be unfolding far from Chelsea this summer. After returning to London in January following a shortened loan spell at Strasbourg, the 20-year-old defender featured in just 7 matches for the Blues.
The Senegal international (8 caps), still a young defender, needs regular game time to continue his development. According to Foot Mercato, another loan move appears to be the solution favored by the English club.
Already heading for the exit?
Despite his return only a few months ago, Sarr hasn’t had sufficient minutes on the pitch. Chelsea are open to a loan move that would allow him to gain valuable experience. The player himself is reportedly seeking a destination where he can string together regular appearances. His profile is attracting interest both in Europe and beyond.
Two options on the table
According to Foot Mercato, two clubs are in the running. Real Sociedad are keen to bring the Senegalese defender in on loan to bolster their back line and give him a more significant role in La Liga.
Meanwhile, Al-Hilal are also pushing to sign him. The Saudi club have already started talks with the player’s representatives. They want to integrate him into their rotation and have outlined their sporting project. The presence of his compatriot Kalidou Koulibaly in the squad could also tip the scales in favor of the Riyadh-based side.
