Chelsea might need to pay up for a Premier League star!
Chelsea have not given up on their ambition to bring Alex Scott to Stamford Bridge, and the signs increasingly suggest they could finally get their man.
According to Matt Law, the London side have positioned themselves at the front of the queue to secure the Bournemouth and England midfielder in 2027. During the most recent summer window, Chelsea came knocking more than once, only to be turned away by Bournemouth, who refused to entertain offers that are thought to have exceeded ÂŁ60 million for the 23-year-old.
Chelsea have not given up on the Bournemouth star
Chelsea's determination to sign Alex Scott remains as strong as ever, even after their earlier approaches were knocked back. Matt Law suggests the Blues are refusing to let the matter rest, and they now find themselves at the head of a growing group of clubs keeping a close watch on the Bournemouth midfielder as 2027 approaches.
The 23-year-old's standing has only grown in recent days. Handed his first England start on Saturday, Scott impressed in a commanding 7-0 Nations League win over Croatia, drawing warm words from national team boss Thomas Tuchel. Back at club level, Chelsea's need for midfield reinforcements looks set to intensify following Enzo Fernandez's switch to Manchester City.
Yet Chelsea are far from alone in their admiration. Liverpool and Arsenal are among those reportedly circling, and Bournemouth have given every indication that they intend to hold firm and keep one of their most important players. As things stand, Transfermarkt pegs Scott's value at €50 million, and his contract at the Vitality Stadium does not expire until June 30, 2028.
