Chelsea: Xabi Alonso confirms his decision regarding Nicolas Jackson
Chelsea has finally put an end to speculation about the future of their Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson. The London club, now under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, has decided to keep the Senegal international in their squad for the upcoming season thereby ending any transfer rumors during this summer's transfer window.
Xabi Alonso: "Nicolas Jackson will be with us on the tour in Asia"
Xabi Alonso confirmed that Nicolas Jackson will join the squad for the pre-season tour in Asia once his vacation after taking part in the 2026 World Cup with Senegal is over.
The Spanish coach stated: "Nico Jackson will join the team for the tour in Asia and we are looking forward to working with him."
Returning to Chelsea after his loan spell at Bayern Munich where the German side ultimately decided not to activate his purchase option, the Senegalese striker will now try to stake his claim in his new manager's plans.
However, competition up front is expected to be fierce. Jackson will have to battle JoĂŁo Pedro, Liam Delap, Emmanuel Emegha, and the young Spaniard Marc Guiu for a starting spot.
Under contract with the Blues until June 2033, the Lions of Teranga striker still has several years left to firmly establish himself at Stamford Bridge.
