Chidozie Awaziem set for medical at Nantes this Monday
Chidozie Awaziem

Chidozie Awaziem is expected this Monday, July 21, 2025, at La Jonelière to undergo his medical with FC Nantes. The club is working on securing his permanent transfer from American side Colorado Rapids.

Chidozie Awaziem is just a step away from rejoining FC Nantes. The 28-year-old Nigerian international, who came through the ranks at FC Porto, has been called in this Monday for the customary medical ahead of signing. The central defender could commit to the Canaries on a permanent deal, having already joined them on loan during the 2017-2018 season.

According to the French press, Nantes officials and the player have reached an agreement for a contract running until June 2028, a three-year deal. The transfer fee is reported to be just under one million euros. This move will see Colorado Rapids part ways with their central defender, who has played in Major League Soccer since his arrival in the United States.
