Christian Eriksen refuses to hang up his boots despite health concerns

Christian Eriksen has made a decision about his future. Despite concerns raised by his recent heart issue, the 34-year-old attacking midfielder has chosen to keep his career alive and is determined to do everything possible to return to the pitch.

In an official statement, VfL Wolfsburg announced that the Danish international will follow a personalized rehabilitation program in Denmark. This decision was made in agreement with sporting director Dieter Hecking, while the German club will continue to provide medical support in coordination with the specialists working with the player.

This latest episode comes nearly five years after the cardiac incident that shocked Euro 2021. More recently, Eriksen again lost consciousness during a friendly match between Denmark and Ukraine, reigniting speculation about a possible retirement. Nevertheless, the man at the center of it all has chosen to look forward. His main goal now is to fully recover his physical condition before considering a return to competition.
