The Ivorian Ligue 2 kicked off its 2026-2027 season on Sunday, 4 October 2026, with six matches on the schedule. Two matches were played in Group A, while Group B featured four fixtures.

In Group A, SC Gagnoa produced the performance of the day with a convincing 4-0 win over CO Bouaflé. It was an impressive start for the Gagnoa side, who immediately move to the top of the group.

In the other match, Africa Sports and Leader SC played out a goalless draw (0-0). Both teams therefore take one point each from their opening game.

LYS Sassandra and JAC de Juenoula begin with wins

Group B also produced several closely contested matches. LYS Sassandra edged Issia Wazy 1-0. JAC de Juenoula recorded the same scoreline against RFC Aboisso (1-0).

Meanwhile, Nour FC and Racing Club could not be separated, playing out a 0-0 draw. Finally, WAC made one of the best moves of the opening matchday by beating Agir Guibéroua 3-1.

With these six matches, the Ivorian Ligue 2 has begun its new season with goals, tight contests and the first signs of how the two groups may take shape. SC Gagnoa, having won by a wide margin, already look like one of the teams to watch in Group A.
