Manchester City travel to London on Friday to face Crystal Palace, aiming to build on their comeback victory over Bournemouth.

After a particularly entertaining opening round of the Premier League, Matchweek 2 gets underway on Friday night with Crystal Palace hosting Manchester City. Enzo Maresca’s side travel to Selhurst Park to face Pierre Sage’s Eagles, with kick-off scheduled for 8 p.m. UK time and 9 p.m. in France.

The Sky Blues were made to work hard in their opening game. Trailing Bournemouth for more than 80 minutes at the Etihad Stadium, City eventually turned the match around to win 2-1. Marc Guéhi headed home the equaliser from a corner in the 84th minute before Joško Gvardiol secured all three points in stoppage time. Rayan Cherki played a decisive role after coming off the bench, providing both assists in the comeback.

Crystal Palace Look to Bounce Back at Home

Crystal Palace, meanwhile, endured a more difficult start. In Pierre Sage’s first match in charge, the Eagles suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Everton. The UEFA Conference League winners must respond quickly in front of their supporters if they are to avoid beginning the campaign with two consecutive losses.

Manchester City comfortably won both Premier League meetings last season, recording a 3-0 victory at Selhurst Park before securing another 3-0 success at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland and his teammates will now look to extend that dominance against a London side still searching for its rhythm.
