Curtis Jones nears Inter move
Inter Milan is on the verge of landing Curtis Jones. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian club has reached a verbal agreement with Liverpool for the transfer of the English midfielder, with a fee set at €35 million.
A lengthy Inter pursuit
Inter had been tracking Jones for several weeks, but Liverpool initially rejected the Milan side's opening offers. The Italian club first tabled a bid of around €20 million, then upped it to €25 million.
Both offers were turned down by the Reds’ management. Inter eventually stepped up their efforts and reportedly secured an agreement for a fixed fee of €35 million.
Final details to iron out
An agreement has also reportedly been reached regarding the player's personal terms. Curtis Jones now needs to travel to Italy to undergo his medical. Should he pass the examinations, the England international will officially become an Inter player.
A Liverpool academy product, Jones has made 228 appearances for his boyhood club, winning two Premier League titles and a domestic cup along the way. His versatility, ball retention, and Premier League experience could be a major asset in Inter’s midfield.
