FC Barcelona would not be Dani Olmo’s final club. Despite feeling comfortable in Catalonia and having a contract that runs until 2030, the Spanish attacking midfielder reportedly has a long-term goal: returning to Dinamo Zagreb, where he took a decisive step forward in his career.

A strong attachment to the Croatian club

In an interview with the newspaper Sport, his agent Andy Bara revealed the Spanish international’s ambitions. “Dani Olmo wants to finish his career at Dinamo Zagreb and hopes that will happen,” he said, before adding that his player would also like to begin his coaching career there.

According to his representative, this attachment goes beyond mere memories of his years spent in Croatia. Olmo reportedly keeps at home a Dinamo shirt bearing his name and the number 7, which he still wears at Barcelona.

Zagreb, a decisive stage in his career

Dani Olmo played for Dinamo Zagreb between 2014 and 2020. He arrived while still young, discovering professional football there and developing his game before joining RB Leipzig. After his spell in the Bundesliga, the Spaniard returned to FC Barcelona in 2024, his formative club. He is currently continuing his career there, with no departure announced in the short term.

While the idea of a return to Zagreb has clearly been mentioned by his agent, no timeline has been set. Olmo’s contract with Barça runs until 2030, and for now, nothing indicates when this plan could come to fruition.
