Papa Daniel Mustapha has received his very first call-up to the Nigerian national team. He was selected by national coach Eric Chelle for the Super Eagles for the upcoming two matchdays of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Playing as a midfielder for the Niger Tornadoes, Mustapha has stood out for his consistent performances in the national championship. He is one of two local players that coach Eric Sekou Chelle has called up for Nigeria's matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe on March 21 and 25. This first call-up has been received with great joy and enthusiasm by the 23-year-old player.

"Honored to receive an invitation from the Super Eagles to represent this beautiful nation in the qualifiers for the next edition of the FIFA World Cup with the senior team. Grateful to my teammates and coaches and very touched by the kind messages I'm still receiving. God bless Nigeria."
