Denis Odoi will not continue his spell with Royal Antwerp. The 37-year-old has reached an agreement with the Belgian club to terminate their partnership, which was originally set to run until 2026. The reasons behind this decision are reportedly private.

In an official statement, Royal Antwerp FC announced the end of its collaboration with Denis Odoi after just one season togetherโ€”a move that caught many by surprise. While he was not an undisputed starter, the Ghanaian defender still made 28 appearances for Antwerp this season in the Pro League.

"Denis is leaving RAFC. Although Odoi still had a year left on his contract, the club and the player have mutually agreed to terminate the deal. RAFC thanks Denis for his efforts and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career," the statement read.

According to reports from several Belgian media outlets, this departure is not related to sporting choices or injury, but rather to the player's personal wishes. The announcement has also fueled rumors about a potential end to his playing career. Denis Odoi himself has spoken about his exit.

"Personal reasons are behind the termination of the contract. I want to thank the club for its understanding and the trust they've shown in me. I also thank all the club's employees, the staff, and my teammates: thank you for the great moments at Bosuil. A big thank you to the supporters. From day one, I felt supported. You are fantastic!" he declared.
