Egypt: Hossam Hassan defends Mohamed Salah

Despite being sidelined for the upcoming friendlies, Mohamed Salah remains the central figure of the Egyptian national team in the eyes of Hossam Hassan.

The head coach was keen to emphasize that the Liverpool striker still plays a strategic role, even when he is away from the pitch:

Mohamed is crucial to our style of play. His absence does not diminish his importance. He is a leader both on and off the field, and we are looking forward to his return to keep building our team around him.

Injured during the Champions League match against Galatasaray, Mohamed Salah will be unable to take part in the friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Spain. Nevertheless, Hossam Hassan assures that the team remains focused on preparing for the 2026 World Cup, and that Salah will be at the heart of Egypt's ambitions as soon as he returns.
