Egyptian Premier League 2025/26: Draw Date and New Format Revealed

The Egyptian Clubs Association's officially set the date for the 2025 /26 Premier League draw with the ceremony scheduled for Sunday, 27 Jul at the Goal Project headquarters in 6th of October City. Representatives from all participating clubs will attend.

Season Start and Major Format Shift

The new season will officially begin on 8 Aug , featuring expanded roster of 21 club following the cancellation of relegation last season.

Newly promoted sides include:

• Al Mokawloon Al Arab
• Wadi Degla
• Kahrabaa Ismailia

New League Format Explained

The 1st half of the season will follow the traditional round robin format. However in the 2nd phase, clubs'll split into two groups:

• Group A (7 clubs): Compete for the league title & continental qualification.
• Group B (14 clubs): Battle for top flight survival with 4 team set to be relegated to the 2nd division.

Last Season Recap

Al Ahly clinched the title in the previous campaign after fierce race with Pyramids FC who've since lodged appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport CAS over controversial point deduction decision that ultimately favored Ahly.
