End of the road for David Alaba at Real Madrid

The David Alaba chapter at Real Madrid is coming to a close. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Madrid club has made its decision: the Austrian defender's contract, set to expire in June 2026, will not be renewed.

Arriving on a free transfer in 2021, Alaba has played 126 matches in the famous white shirt, scoring five goals and providing nine assists. However, injuries have significantly hampered his impact over the past two seasons, limiting his playing time.

Despite Real's ambitions still burning bright on both domestic and European fronts, the management is already planning for the future. This summer's transfer window is expected to bring reinforcements to the back line, signaling the end of the Alaba era.
