FC Barcelona: Andrés Iniesta wants to return
Years after leaving FC Barcelona, Andrés Iniesta has reinvented himself as a coach. But he is already dreaming of a return to Catalonia.
After his first experience with Emirates Club, Andrés Iniesta remained in the United Arab Emirates but now coaches Gulf United FC. It is a path that has been modest so far but is reminiscent of Xavi. The latter first coached in Qatar before returning to the Barça bench and then becoming the current Netherlands manager. A destiny that would please Iniesta.
Approached by Mundo Deportivo on Monday, Andrés Iniesta is dreaming of a return to FC Barcelona as a coach. “Destiny will decide what happens. Obviously, it would be wonderful to continue my coaching career, given what Barça represents to me, but it is not a priority goal. I have always said that my dream was to be a footballer, and it was at that time that I had goals and ambitions, when I arrived in Barcelona: succeeding with the first team. Those were goals, things I was very certain about. Now, perhaps because I like to take my time to reflect, as becoming a coach was not planned, the future will tell us, but it is true that I am really enjoying this start. Not only because I am a coach, but because of everything it entails,” he said.
