FC Barcelona: Laporta responds to rumors about Raphinha
As the summer transfer window kicks off, Barça is making moves. Joan Laporta has addressed the speculation surrounding Raphinha's future.
At Barça, Anthony Gordon has already completed his signing at the start of the window. He joins from Newcastle for €80 million, bonuses included. Karim Adeyemi is also set to leave Dortmund to join the Blaugrana, with the deal reportedly worth €29 million, including bonuses.
Two wingers, two offensive reinforcements for the Catalan giants. These two players could potentially take Raphinha's spot. The Brazilian has been courted for months by clubs from Saudi Arabia.
The question was put to Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who dismissed the rumors about a possible departure for the Brazilian. "The arrivals of Gordon and Adeyemi are not related to Raphinha's future. We have no intention of letting him go. He will stay, because he is a key player for us. We saw last season when he got injured, and it had a huge impact on our results," the club chief told the media.
