FC Barcelona makes progress in João Cancelo talks

FC Barcelona is moving forward in its efforts to keep João Cancelo beyond this season. According to multiple reports, the Catalan club and the Portuguese international have agreed on the terms of a three-year contract, running until 2028.

On loan from Al Hilal, Cancelo once again proved his value to the Blaugrana squad with his versatility and offensive contributions. However, the deal is not finalized yet. Barcelona must now reach an agreement with the Saudi club, which owns the player’s rights.

Under contract with Al-Hilal until the summer of 2027, the 32-year-old full-back can only remain in Catalonia through a permanent transfer or a new arrangement between the two clubs. Barcelona’s management now hopes to turn this agreement with the player into a concrete deal during the summer transfer window.
