FC Barcelona: Neymar reveals a crazy anecdote about Messi and Suárez
The Brazilian shared a hilarious memory of the MSN trio after the 2015 Champions League, highlighting their remarkable bond.
Neymar took FC Barcelona supporters back to one of the most memorable periods in the club’s recent history. On Thursday evening, the Brazilian shared a rare video filmed during the celebrations that followed their 2015 Champions League triumph.
In the footage, Neymar appears alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez, with the three men making the most of the evening after beating Juventus in the final. Watching the footage again in his documentary, the former Paris Saint-Germain player made no secret of his amusement.
“Look at Messi. He was dancing. Luis Suárez, Messi and me. Completely drunk.”
113 matches together for the legendary MSN trio
Beyond the anecdote, the footage primarily serves as a reminder of the close bond between the three forwards. Between 2014 and 2017, Messi, Suárez and Neymar played 113 matches together in all competitions for the Blaugrana. According to Opta data, they scored a combined 253 goals when all three started.
Across their three seasons together, the trio even scored 363 goals for Barça. An exceptional attacking output that made MSN one of the most formidable tridents in European football history.
Nine trophies won in three seasons
The trio’s success was also reflected in the titles they won. Together, Messi, Suárez and Neymar lifted 9 trophies: two La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey trophies, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, one Club World Cup and one Spanish Super Cup.
The highlight was obviously the 2014-15 season, which ended with a La Liga–Copa del Rey–Champions League treble. Neymar had in fact scored Barça’s third goal in the European final against Juventus in Berlin.
