FC Barcelona: squad against Getafe with one major absentee!
Hansi Flick has named an almost full-strength squad to face Getafe, marked by the return of Joan Garcia and the absence of Raphinha.
FC Barcelona return to action this Friday by hosting Getafe at 6:30 p.m. on matchday 8 of La Liga. Just hours before kick-off, Hansi Flick announced the list of players selected for the match.
The Catalan squad is almost at full strength. The main absentee is Raphinha, whose unavailability had already been confirmed by Flick at a press conference. The Brazilian travelled extensively during the international break, notably to Australia and India, and is also dealing with a minor thigh problem.
Joan Garcia returns
The good news is the return of Joan Garcia. The Spanish goalkeeper is back in the squad after several weeks out and had not been called up since mid-September. His return gives the Catalan coaching staff an additional option ahead of a busy period.
Hansi Flick will also be able to count on almost all of his key players, including Pedri, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Lamine Yamal, Jules Koundé, Alejandro Balde and João Cancelo.
Barça's full squad against Getafe
Goalkeepers: Joan Garcia, Szczesny, Livaković.
Defenders: João Cancelo, Balde, Brian Fariñas, Cubarsí, X. Espart, Gerard Martín, Koundé, Eric.
Midfielders: Gavi, Fermín, Pedri, Rodrigo, Olmo, Bernal.
Forwards: G. Jesus, Lamine Yamal, Adeyemi, Gordon, Abdelkarim.
Barça will look to use this home fixture against Getafe to maintain their momentum in the league and stay within reach of the top places, with an almost full-strength squad despite the notable absence of Raphinha.
