On Saturday, Anthony Gordon experienced a very special evening in FC Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Getafe. The Englishman scored a goal and spoke after the match.

It took the return of La Liga after the international break for Anthony Gordon to find the back of the net. The English forward scored his first goal in his new colours. He made no secret of his delight at experiencing the enthusiasm of the Blaugrana supporters.

“Before coming here, I didn’t expect to build such a special relationship with the supporters so quickly. FC Barcelona is the best club in the world and has the best supporters. They have seen the best players play here. My family and I are very happy with this welcome,” he said.

Flick delighted with Gordon

The former Newcastle player’s satisfaction is also shared by his coach Hansi Flick. The German coach highlighted his player’s growing confidence, with Gordon also scoring during the international break for England. “Of course, Gordon has gained confidence. During the break with England, he also scored goals. It’s fantastic that he helped us to victory with his goal,” said the German coach, delighted to see his forward contribute to the Catalan side’s success.
