FC Barcelona: the role of Karim Adeyemi, Hansi Flick has made his decision

What position will Karim Adeyemi play following his move to FC Barcelona this summer? The question now has an answer.

After being signed from Borussia Dortmund during this summer transfer window, Karim Adeyemi now knows what his role at FC Barcelona will be. According to information from SPORT, Barça boss Hans-Dieter Flick plans to primarily deploy the German international on the flanks. Karim Adeyemi will therefore be used on the right wing, rather than through the middle.

This decision was confirmed during pre-season, as Flick experimented with several players at centre-forward but never lined up Adeyemi in that central role. Despite his ability to play through the middle, the former BvB star is expected to mainly provide an extra option on the wings, with Barça still on the hunt for a new number 9 to replace Robert Lewandowski.
