FC Barcelona: these 4 players who don't want Julian Alvarez
At Barça, Julian Alvarez has yet to win everyone over. Some players wouldn't be disappointed if things stayed that way.
At least, that's what El Nacional reported this Wednesday. The Catalan outlet reveals that several FC Barcelona players aren't thrilled about the possible signing of Julian Alvarez this summer. Last month, Sport explained that Barça's squad was actually positively surprised by the Argentine's media appearance and saw him as a major asset. They had even discussed him enthusiastically in the team's group chat.
However, El Nacional brings nuance, stating that not everyone is in favor of his arrival. It's been revealed that four Barça players aren't excited about the idea of him joining. First, there's Ferran Torres, the striker who scored in the 2026 World Cup final. He believes he's fully capable of holding down a starting spot. Nursing a bruised ego, he's now seriously considering a summer move to PSG.
Gavi and Pedri are reportedly not convinced either. Both are close to Ferran and maintain a strong relationship with him, so they don't see the Argentine's signing in a positive light. Finally, Raphinha is also mentioned. The Brazilian feels that, with the club already having secured Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, there's no need to spend €150 million on Julian Alvarez.
That opinion is shared by some members of the sporting management as well. According to the Catalan media, Deco and Hansi Flick believe the player's price tag is too high and that the club would be better off targeting a less expensive option.
