FC Barcelona vs Inter Milan: the referee for the semi-final is announced (Official)
UEFA has officially announced the appointment of Clément Turpin to officiate the highly anticipated first leg of the Champions League semi-final between FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, scheduled for Wednesday evening at 7 PM GMT.
The French referee, a regular at major European events, will return to the Champions League less than two weeks after officiating in the Conference League during the second leg quarter-final between Jagiellonia Bialystok and Betis Sevilla.
Turpin, who will officiate his seventh Champions League match this season, will be assisted by Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pagès on the sidelines.
François Letexier, the main referee of the recent Real Madrid-Arsenal (1-2) match, will serve as the fourth official. The duo Willy Delajod-Jérôme Brisard will be in charge of the VAR.
Clément Turpin, a regular at major events
Experienced, Clément Turpin continues his streak at the highest level, officiating a semi-final for the third consecutive year.
The man in black had already refereed Bayern Munich-Real Madrid (2-2) last season, as well as the Milan derby Inter-AC Milan (1-0) during the 2022-2023 edition.
It is worth noting that in 2022, the French official was also chosen to referee the final between Liverpool and Real Madrid (0-1) at the Stade de France.
