FC Basel: decision made on Koba Koindredi

Koba Koindredi will not stay at FC Basel. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the Swiss club has decided not to activate the €4 million purchase option set by Sporting.

Loaned out this season to the Rhine club, the Djibouti-born midfielder failed to fully convince, prompting the Basel management to walk away from a permanent deal. On the other side, Sporting Lisbon aren’t counting on him for next season either. Koindredi isn’t even training with the first team and is currently working with the youth squad while waiting for a solution.

Under contract until 2028, Koindredi could be loaned out again if no club comes forward for a permanent transfer. His future remains uncertain, but his Swiss adventure is already over.
