Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz has spoken glowingly of newly signed winger Faiz Abrahms, who caught the eye in his Amakhosi debut against Richards Bay in the club's last league outing.

The 21-year-old attacker was roped in on a season-long loan from fellow Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC, in a deal that includes a buy option to make the player's stay at Naturena permanent.

He entered the fray as a second half substitute away to the Natal Rich Boys, replacing Mfundo Vilakazi, and swiftly impressed with numerous crosses into the box as Chiefs were looking to expunge the deficit at the time.

Now, da Cruz has waxed lyrical about Abrahams' qualities, and revealed a plan to afford the Cape Town Spurs academy graduate ample minutes, but highlighted the importance of gradually integrating the player into the team in a bid to avoid injuries.

“Faiz is a very good player, he has a lot of quality, a lot of mobility, a lot of technical quality, also quality in the cross,” said the Chiefs boss.

"So, that's why I put him on the bench against Richards Bay but I want to give him minutes step-by-step.

"I don't want to push him too much because I don't want him to be injured, but he has adapted very well in our game model.

Abrahams will be raring to go ahead of Chiefs' Betway Premiership clash against Siwelele FC at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, with the Glamour Boys looking to snap a run of two consecutive draws.
