FIFA: Three Argentine internationals voice their support for Gianni Infantino

As he faces serious opposition ahead of the upcoming FIFA presidential election in March, Gianni Infantino is holding on to some minor endorsements.

In the past few hours, the FIFA president has received support from Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, and Javier Pastore. The three former Argentine internationals issued a joint statement on Tuesday, praising "the commitment of FIFA and President Infantino" to player representation within football's governing bodies.

"Our opinions are being heard and many initiatives beneficial to football are taking shape thanks to our contributions, our ideas, our projects, and our active participation," they stated on Instagram. This declaration comes as several former internationals, including Emmanuel Petit, Robert Pirès, Louis Saha, and Mikaël Silvestre, have recently called for a change in FIFA's governance.
