FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup: Kenya and Zambia secure qualification spots

The lineup is complete. Kenya and Zambia each clinched their tickets to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup on Sunday, July 12, after the conclusion of the third round of African qualifiers.

Zambia clinched their spot against Ethiopia. A 1-1 draw in the second leg was enough to delight the "Copper Princesses" after their 2-1 victory in the first leg. The same scenario unfolded for Kenya.

After the "Junior Starlets" drew 1-1 with South Africa, Kenya secured qualification thanks to their impressive 2-0 win in the first leg.

Five African representatives

Kenya and Zambia join Ghana, Nigeria, and Morocco, who had already qualified. Ghana and Nigeria eliminated Senegal and Benin, respectively, in the same third round. The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will take place from October 17 to November 7 in Rabat, Morocco.
