FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Nigeria face a do-or-die clash against China

It is the Falconets’ second match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026. This Thursday, 10 September, Nigeria take on China in Group F in Sosnowiec in what is already a decisive fixture.

Nigeria with their backs against the wall

They got off to a poor start. The Nigerians lost 2–0 to Spain on the opening day. This Thursday at the Arena Sosnowiec, they are playing for survival. Against China, Moses Aduku’s side have no room for error. They must secure a result to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

China brimming with confidence

Their opponents, China, arrive brimming with confidence. The Asian side thrashed New Caledonia 5-0 on the opening day and sit top of Group F. With their clinical attack, the Chinese team are looking to build on that result and secure early qualification.

The match is set to take place at the Arena Sosnowiec, with kick-off scheduled for 5.00 pm GMT. The Falconets will need to show character and determination to turn the tide.
