Fikayo Tomori is close to returning to England: Newcastle United are among the interested parties!
According to press reports, Newcastle United are interested in signing experienced defender Fikayo Tomori to bolster their squad for next season. The player enjoyed a successful spell in Serie A with AC Milan, where he made numerous appearances in a competitive league.
Newcastle United are looking to strengthen their squad for next season after losing several key players, including Kieran Trippier, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, and most recently, Bruno Guimarães, who joined Arsenal.
Newcastle United want to negotiate the signing of Fikayo Tomori!
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tomori did not participate in AC Milan's last friendly match against Chelsea, and the new coach, Ruben Amorim, does not favor the player who was born in Canada. Newcastle United are not the only club competing to sign the Canadian, Coventry City are also among those interested.
It might raise a few eyebrows that Amorim has apparently ruled out Tomori, especially since the Portuguese coach is well known for his attachment to a back-three system. But looking closer, the 28-year-old has hardly been at his sharpest over the past twelve months, and his difficulties with holding a high defensive line have become increasingly hard to ignore.
