Fiorentina: Franco Mastantuono undergoes hand surgery
Franco Mastantuono underwent surgery on his left hand after being injured during the match between Fiorentina and Genoa. The Italian club officially announced the operation while also providing reassuring news: the player is expected to return to team training and should be available for the next league match.
Fracture of the fourth metacarpal
On loan from Real Madrid to Fiorentina, Mastantuono suffered a left-hand injury during Sunday’s match against Genoa. Examinations carried out after the game revealed a fracture of the fourth metacarpal. The 19-year-old therefore underwent an outpatient procedure on October 13 to reduce and stabilize the fracture.
In its statement, Fiorentina specified that the Argentine was expected to resume normal training with his teammates the following day. According to the club, he will be available to the staff for the next match.
Mastantuono expected to face Como
Despite this injury, Mastantuono could still take part in the match against Como, scheduled for Sunday, October 18. The procedure is therefore not expected to result in a lengthy absence, although his condition will need to be monitored over the coming days.
The Argentine forward has scored three goals in eight appearances for Fiorentina since his arrival. His attacking contribution could be important for a team looking to improve its results in Serie A. The main challenge will be to ensure that he can return to competition without discomfort and quickly regain his rhythm.
