Former AmaZulu star draws interest from Zimbabwe

Foot Africa has established that former AmaZulu FC midfielder Mason Mushore has attracted widespread interest from the Zimbabwe Castle Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is currently a free agent after parting ways with Usuthu at the end of the previous campaign as the club finished fourth on the log.

He had joined the KwaZulu-Natal outfit in the January transfer window from Zimbabwean giants Highlanders FC, where he emerged as one of the standout performers.

Mushore, however, failed to make a single appearance for AmaZulu as head coach Arthur Zwane preferred Siyanda Hlangabeza and Nkosikhona Radebe, among others.

The Zimbabwe international, as a result, was deemed surplus to requirements and was also keen on severing ties with the team due to lack of opportunities on the pitch.

Now, sources have confirmed that Mushore is on the verge of signing for FC Platinum in his native country, although other teams in the Zim PSL remain interested.

Simba Bhora, Chicken Inn, Tel One, and relegation-threatened Triangle United are all understood to be monitoring the situation with the view of securing his services.

With a host of clubs in a familiar territory seriously keen, it remains to be seen where Mushore will be plying his trade as he looks to revive his career.
