Julio Salinas comments that the decision not to sign Julián Álvarez was the right one

In a recent interview with Radio MARCA, the former Barcelona player stated that the move for Ferran was a mistake from the outset, citing both tactical and financial reasons.

"I'm glad he didn't come now, and hopefully he won't come in January. For me it's a mistake, He's a very good footballer, no one's going to discuss his quality,

but I think that amount of money is an exaggeration," he added.

Salinas didn't stop there, insisting Barcelona ought to sharpen their approach when it comes to transfer dealings. "They should learn a little bit about buying better and selling better," he added.

Turning his attention to Atletico Madrid, Salinas argued they missed a golden opportunity, given how desperate Barcelona were to get a deal done. In his view, he would have gladly accepted Ferran Torres as the man to fill Alvarez's shoes.

"The offer I think Barça made of 130 million seems to me too much money, too much money. Seeing the need of Barça, I would have tried to sign Ferran Torres and to be paid, imagine, Ferran Torres and 80 million. I'd look like a bargain," he said.
