Former Kaizer Chiefs star off the mark in Kuwait
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro scored his first goal for Al Fahaheel SC in the 4-1 thumping of Al-Tadhamon in the Kuwait Premier League on Saturday.
The 33-year-old centre-forward broke the deadlock seconds into the match, ensuring his team heads to the break with a 1-0 lead en route to their first win of the season.
Al Fahaheel, as a result, climbed to seventh place on the log standings, as they also registered two defeats in their opening three matches of the 2026/27 campaign.
Chivaviro, meanwhile, signed for the Kuwait outfit on a free transfer in July 2026 after parting ways with Saudi second-tier side Al-Adalah at the end of last season.
He arrived in Kuwait on the back of scoring an impressive 13 goals with two assists in 28 league matches in the oil-rich kingdom, helping his then-employers survive relegation.
The South Africa international has rediscovered his form since taking his expertise to the Middle East following an underwhelming spell with Chiefs.
Chivaviro contributed nine goals and a solitary assist in 45 matches during his time at Naturena, and lifted the Nedbank Cup under Nasreddine Nabi in the 2024/25 season.
With Al Fahaheel set to visit fifth-placed Al Sahel SC in their next league outing on Friday, 09 October, Chivaviro will be looking to maintain scoring momentum.
