Former Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro masterminded a dramatic 3-2 win as AIK Fotboll beat fierce rivals Hammarby in the Stocklholm derby over the weekend.

Hammarby drew first blood in the 14th minute, thanks to a right-footed shot from Frank Adjei, before Linus Carlstrand leveled matters a minute later.

Riveiro's men conceded a penalty in the 24th minute as Lars Bergquist fouled Montader Madjed, but Kristoffer Nordfeldt saved Paulos Abraham's attempt from the spot.

With the game poised for a stalemate at the break, Abraham redeemed himself with a powerful shot into the top corner in stoppage time after an assist from Victor Lind.

AIK, however, restored parity in the second stanza, with substitute Axel Kouame pouncing on an assist from Kevin Fillling in the 72nd minute to make it 2-2.

Riveiro's tactical nous was once again rewarded as 19-year-old striker Sixten Gustafsson scored a volley in the 83rd minute, handing AIK the Stocklholm bragging rights.

The Spanish mentor, as a result, has now guided his troops to four consecutive victories across all competitions, denting their rivals' title chances in the process.

AIK sit fifth with 31 points accumulated from 18 league outings, while Hammarby are in second place with 36 points - six behind log leaders Sirius who have a game in hand.

The ex-Bucs mentor and his charges will now shift focus to their next league outing against Malmo FF away from home on Monday, 07 September.
