Former Orlando Pirates coach joins new club in England

Former Orlando Pirates striker's coach Scott Chickelday has joined Spartan South Midlands Premier Division side Harlow Town FC as the finishing coach.

The Englishman had been unattached since parting ways with Aston Villa's women's team, where he held the same role from January to May 2024.

During his time at Pirates, Chickelday changed the club's fortunes in front of goals, and was widely credited for the resurgence of Terrence Dzvukamanja.

He was lured to South Africa in January 2023 on a five-week contract under then-head coach Jose Riveiro, who guided the Buccaneers to five domestic cup titles.

Notably, Chickelday had held posts at Tottenham Hotspurs and Queens Park Rangers (QPR) academies, including Billericay Town women's team before joining Pirates.

The UEFA License holder is now set for a new chapter with Harlow Town in the amateur ranks back in his native England.

“Harlow Town Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Chickelday as our new attacking/finishing coach,” read the club statement.

"Scott works closely with players in the English Premier League, championship, and top leagues across Europe. Welcome to the club Scott.

Having accumulated vast experience throughout the course of his career, Chickelday will undoubtedly help turn Harlow Town into serial finishers in the final third.
