France national team: Kanté's ambition ahead of the 2026 World Cup
Although injuries have hampered him in recent years, N’Golo Kanté has seen his standing with the French national team drop considerably. Nevertheless, the former Chelsea star has now set his sights on a new goal.
N'Golo Kanté no longer enjoys the same status he once did with Les Bleus. This Sunday, speaking to Téléfoot, the Fenerbahçe midfielder reflected on the evolution of his international career, making it clear that the team comes first.
"Since I joined the national team, I’ve been fortunate to start matches regularly, to be considered a starter. Today, after my absences, other players are performing very well. My aim, my desire, is to integrate with the squad, give my all, and pull in the same direction as everyone else. Playing, playing less, or barely playing... that’s not the most important thing. The main thing is reaching our objectives. The coach has made it clear: when France win, everyone wins." he said.
Kanté is expected to be with Les Bleus at the 2026 World Cup.
