Friendly double-header between Banyana Banyana and the Scorchers in April

This Tuesday, April 1, the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) publicly announced a friendly double-header between the Malawian women's team and their African counterparts this April. These matches are part of the FIFA women's international window, which runs from March 31 to April 9.

"The Malawi women's national team, the Scorchers, will depart tomorrow for Johannesburg, South Africa, for two friendly matches against Banyana Banyana on April 5 and 8, 2025," informed the FAM.

The Malawi Scorchers, currently in a phase of growth on the continental stage, will have the opportunity to face one of Africa's top teams. South Africa, the reigning African champions of the Women's AFCON and regulars in major competitions, presents a formidable challenge for the Malawians, who are eager to enhance their competitiveness.

The Scorchers' head coach, Lovemore Fazili, has called up a squad of 23 players for this double-header. "Every international friendly is crucial for us. These matches will help us develop the team," he stated.
