Bryan Mbeumo made a huge impact during summer preparations. The Cameroonian striker bagged a brace to lead Manchester United to a comeback win over Atlético de Madrid (2-1), clinching the Snapdragon Cup.

Mbeumo changes the game

The Colchoneros got off to a dream start thanks to Arnau Ortiz, who found the net in the 5th minute after beating Tom Heaton. Manchester United gradually took control of the match. Bryan Mbeumo first brought the sides level by converting a penalty awarded after a foul on Shea Lacey.

The Cameroon international then sealed the win for the Red Devils in the second half, capitalizing on a recovery by Jack Fletcher down the right flank. Moments later, Morten Hjulmand nearly extended the lead, striking the post.

A positive sign before the season starts

This win allows Manchester United to wrap up pre-season on a high note ahead of the official start of the campaign. For his part, Bryan Mbeumo continues his impressive form, already establishing himself as one of the Red Devils’ key attacking assets.

Even if this was just a pre-season tournament, Bryan Mbeumo’s brace is far from insignificant. The Cameroon international is already showing great chemistry with his new teammates and proving he can be decisive in various situations, whether from the penalty spot or open play. Beyond the result, Manchester United will especially remember the quality of their response after falling behind.
