Fulham: "He needs to be more focused," Marco Silva on Calvin Bassey

Marco Silva, the Fulham manager, discussed the mixed performances of Calvin Bassey. The Portuguese coach acknowledges the undeniable qualities of the Nigerian defender, particularly his aggression and speed, which make him a valuable defensive asset for the Cottagers.

"I know him very well, I've said it several times since he joined us after a very difficult period at Ajax and his stint at Rangers. We truly believe in him. I really believe he is capable of playing at a very high level. He meets all the conditions of a modern footballer and defender," said Marco Silva regarding Bassey.

However, Silva insisted on the need for the 25-year-old Super Eagle to gain consistency, especially in key moments of matches.

"He really needs to improve his aerial duels. All the other elements? He has them. He has the ability to play the ball, he is fast and strong in duels. He needs to be more focused in all moments of the match. If he can stay focused throughout the match, then he is capable of playing as he does. He is very aggressive and very fast," added the Fulham coach.
