Fulham officially announce the arrival of Gonzalo García
Fulham have secured their new centre-forward. The London club officially announced on Tuesday the signing of Gonzalo García from Real Madrid. The 22-year-old Spanish striker has committed to the Cottagers until 2031.
A new challenge in the Premier League
Trained at Real Madrid, Gonzalo García was never able to secure a long-term spot in the star-studded squad. Last season, he started nine times in La Liga and scored eight goals across all competitions.
By joining Fulham, the young striker hopes to take his game to the next level, seizing more playing time in one of the most competitive leagues in the world:
I am extremely grateful and very happy to be here. I thank the management and Alvaro Arbeloa for the trust they have shown in me. I can't wait to get started.
Reunion with Alvaro Arbeloa
This transfer also marks a reunion between Gonzalo García and Alvaro Arbeloa. The Spanish manager, recently appointed as Fulham's head coach, knows his compatriot well after managing Real Madrid last season.
This relationship clearly played a role in the player's decision to join the London club. With this signing, Fulham continue to build their squad under Arbeloa's leadership. The club is betting on a young striker with huge potential, capable of continuing his development while immediately adding more attacking options this season.
