Gabriel Jesus: “I feel very good in Barcelona”
Interview
Gabriel Jesus seems to have found a new lease of life in Barcelona. Signed this summer after a difficult final season at Arsenal, the 29-year-old Brazilian striker says he is pleased with his first few months in the Catalan shirt, despite still having limited playing time.
A quick adaptation
Having arrived from Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus had to find his bearings in a new environment. However, the Brazilian explained to Catalan Sport that his adaptation had gone smoothly
I felt very good. It took me about a month to adapt. I already knew some of the players I had played with before, so it was good to see some people again and get to know the others.
Barça’s new striker has so far scored one goal in three appearances in La Liga. This move to Barcelona also represents a fresh start for Gabriel Jesus, who had expressed his dissatisfaction with his situation at Arsenal. His transfer to Barça therefore allows him to relaunch his career in a new project, with the ambition of finding greater consistency.
“We are on the right track”
Gabriel Jesus is also optimistic about Barcelona’s ambitions this season. The striker believes that the club has the qualities needed to continue competing at the top. The Brazilian also highlighted the importance of wearing the blaugrana shirt:
We have incredible players and a fantastic coach. We are on the right track. Being able to wear the Barça shirt is something I thank God for. It is thanks to His work. And here I am.
Under contract with FC Barcelona until the summer of 2029, Gabriel Jesus now hopes to build on his positive first impressions and gradually establish himself in the Catalan starting XI.
