Gavi turns down Manchester United
Manchester United tried to sign Gavi, but the Spanish midfielder reportedly turned down the English club's approach. Meanwhile, Barça has offered Marc Casadó to several clubs, including the Red Devils.
Gavi wants to stay in Barcelona
According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United was ready to meet Barcelona's financial demands with an offer that could reach £35 million, or roughly €40.4 million. Despite this proposal, Gavi has decided to remain in Catalonia. The 22-year-old midfielder has always made it clear he wants to continue his career at Barça and is not looking to leave the club at this stage of his career.
His recent journey has been hampered by injuries. After suffering a torn cruciate ligament in November 2023, he faced several physical setbacks and featured in just 11 La Liga matches last season.
Casadó emerges as another option
With the arrival of Rodri, competition in midfield could become even fiercer. Marc Casadó, also 22, is now expected to seek a new destination. According to Sport, Manchester United is among the clubs to which the player has been offered. Several Premier League teams have reportedly received the same opportunity.
Casadó still has two years left on his contract with Barcelona and is valued at around €30 million. Saudi Arabia has also shown interest, but for now, the defensive midfielder prefers to continue his career in Europe.
