Germany: Harry Kane named player of the year (official)

At Bayern, it's all falling into place for Harry Kane. The English international has been named Germany's 2026 Player of the Year.

After an outstanding 2025-2026 season with Bayern Munich, Harry Kane has been voted Germany's Footballer of the Year for 2026. The prestigious honor comes as a result of the traditional poll organized by Kicker among the country's sports journalists. With 272 votes, the English striker edged out his teammate Michael Olise (203 votes). Interestingly, the French international was named the best player of the last Bundesliga season.

With 61 goals in 51 matches across all competitions in 2025-2026 and the European Golden Shoe to his name, Harry Kane becomes the first Englishman to clinch this award since its inception in 1960. Bayern completed a treble of accolades, with Vincent Kompany named coach of the year and Giulia Gwinn crowned best female player.
