After producing the finest season of his career, Harry Kane refuses to set limits on his individual and collective ambitions.

At 33, Harry Kane enters the new campaign with enormous confidence. Speaking to TNT Sports, the England striker explained that he never likes to place a ceiling on his ambitions. Kane scored 73 goals for club and country last season, almost 20 more than in any of his previous outstanding campaigns, making it comfortably the most prolific year of his career.

Kane wants to enjoy this exceptional period while making it last for as long as possible. The longevity shown by Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric provides extra motivation. He believes mentality, unfulfilled goals and the hunger to keep winning can help elite players remain influential beyond the age of 35.

“I want to stay at the highest level possible for as long as possible,” Kane summarised. At Bayern Munich, he knows he will compete for major honours every season. Winning the Champions League remains his biggest club objective, while he is also determined to secure international silverware with England.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or remains firmly in sight

Having claimed the Golden Shoe following his record-breaking season, Kane is proud to be viewed as a leading Ballon d’Or contender. However, he refuses to declare himself the winner, stressing that the decision now belongs to the voters and that every candidate brings different qualities to the debate. His focus has already turned towards improving again this season.

The 30-man shortlist will be announced on September 8, with the ceremony scheduled for October 26, 2026, in London. Victory would make Kane only the fifth English winner after Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Michael Owen, the country’s most recent recipient in 2001.
