‘He Does Everything’: Tuchel Reveals Why Harry Kane Deserves the Ballon d’Or !

Harry Kane can count on the support of Thomas Tuchel in the race for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. The England manager believes that his captain has enjoyed a complete enough season to contend for the prestigious individual award.

Asked by British broadcaster ITV about Kane’s chances of winning the Ballon d’Or, Thomas Tuchel was categorical: “

Yes. After this season, yes.”

The England manager notably highlighted his captain’s record to explain his view:

“More than 70 goals, three titles with Bayern Munich, a World Cup semi-final and a Champions League semi-final.”

Beyond his statistics, Tuchel also emphasised the development of Kane’s game and the physical level displayed by the England striker:

“He is improving more and more. I think he has reached an exceptional physical level in his performances.”

For Tuchel, Kane’s impact cannot be reduced to his goals. The “Three Lions” captain is now involved in several phases of play, both in winning the ball back and in building attacks or making the final contribution.

“He is fully committed to the high press and takes part in every phase of the match, whether it is building from the back, finishing, building through midfield or defensive work. He does everything,” the German coach explained.

Harry finished the 2025-2026 season with 73 goals scored for Bayern Munich and England. With the Bavarian club, the England striker also added three trophies to his honours list: the Bundesliga, the DFB-Pokal and the German Super Cup.
