Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has stated that Manchester City's owners should not continue in English football, according to a report by CaughtOffside citing Sky Sports.

Manchester City have now been found guilty on the overwhelming majority of the staggering 115 allegations brought against them concerning breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations.

Jamie Carragher gives his opinion on Manchester City's owners

It always circles back to the same equation: players, supporters, the club, and the owners. And in my view, the owners are the crux of the entire matter.

"Manchester City are a wonderful football club and have been for a hundred years … they'll have the supporters who'll always be there, they'll have players who come and go.

"But in terms of what we're finding out now, what we're reading, what we're hearing, I don't know how the owners can continue in English football.

"We talk about a fit and proper test for owners, now they own Manchester City … what they've done over ten years now in the Premier League has left a stain that will be there for the next ten years about 'did they win that really? Was that fair, was that legitimate?'.

"Every club is involved, people are going to be suing each other left, right, and centre. This all starts with Manchester City and it starts because they don't like the word 'no'.

"When the rules came in, it's in the emails 'we can do what we want' … it actually beggars belief what you're watching and what you're hearing. I think it all boils down to, they have so much power, finances behind them, no one ever tells them no."
